Someone dropped off a bucket full of small assorted peacock cichlids at The Purrfect Aquarium in Old Lyme, CT. Owner wants to move them, asking only $2 each. There is more than what is seen in the photo -- first come, first served.
Does anyone know how to increase growth rates in Green terror cichlids? I have one white, and one gold saum, both appear to have grown between 1 and 2 inches in 7+ months. My ph is 7.85-8.2 (I have hard water that I use to breed guppies, the water in the cichlid tank is softened with driftwood to attain a more neutral balance). The temperature is steadily 69 degrees (for colder dwelling fish and marimo moss balls). The tank is 165 gallons, they were in a 40-50 gallon tank until they were a minimum length of 2.5 inches so as to avoid them being eaten in a larger community tank. They eat readily but not excessively, they are not bullied, and show good daily swimming activity. Any related suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.
